We GTFO-ed

OMG we are finally on the road!

After waking up extremely hungover from our farewell tequila shots and beers, Jared and I sewed better attachment points on my panniers together in Tim’s apocalyptic junkyard, which was our home-sweet-home for a time:

We ate round the world veggie burritos at Martin’s….soo good!:

said goodbye to Ordinary. I will miss that bike shop!:

& escaped from Tucson. It was a little sad for me and reminded me of the day I left Ohio on the bike and set out for Arizona .

On the way out we took the aviation bike path and went by the airplane boneyard:

We went through Vail and ended up camping off the I-10 frontage road on the AZ trail.
It is nice to be sleeping outside again in the fresh air.  We drank the entire bottle of tequila that Erik Ryberg gave me as a going away present (thanks boss!) and looked at the stars and talked about space.  There was a lot of weird plane activity to be seen…probably from the airforce base.

This morning was a little rough.  It took us a while to get moving. We were very hungover & short on H2O:

After riding for a couple grueling hours we found a miraculous gas station where we got hydrated. Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah!!! I was starting to panic and would have felt dumb to drop dead on the 2nd day out due to shameful tequila overconsumption:

We are in Benson now…so we will probably ride for another couple of hours and end up near “THE THING?”
